If any history buff needed some piece of harness racing trivia, they need to look no further than O.L. Weaver because he'll know it all. "Buck" began his long career in harness racing in 1955 and has since become a name that everyone recognizes. He began working summers for Don Busse as a groom, second trainer and driver. He has raced great horses such as King's Day and Roxburgh Bob as well as breaking and training American National winners Game Guy and Nibble Tar for the Busse Stable.
BUck built his own training facility in 1967 and continued to train for Don BUsse as well as horses of his own. Buck ahs raised and raced many "Jesters" and "Friscos" over the years and continues to do so. Now Buck has handed over the reins to son wayne as he is extremely busy announcing fairs all over Illinois and Wisoconsin. When Buck takes over the microphone, we are given a little unknown insight into the lives of the drivers and careers of the horses racing. Only Buck would notice when two brothers are racing against each other or when a driver milestone was hit, and the fans love to hear about it.
Buck, we thank you for all you have done for Wisconsin racing on and off the racetrack. Your insight is valued and we are proud to have you in our family.
