Entries Are Back! (26-Oct)

After a 2-month hiatus, the WHHA-owned entries are back online! It has been a busy week so far - since Sunday the 22nd we have been watching 16 horses compete from Balmoral to Colonial! If you know of some WHHA-owned horses that I have missed (I am only one person after all!) please let me know!

Vapor Maker Romps in Sarah Meyers (26-Oct)

Congratulations to the connections of Vapor Maker who won the Sarah Meyers at Balmoral by 6+ lengths in 1:58.2.

Vapor Maker in Sarah Meyers (23-Oct)

Good luck to Bruce & Dean Alexander's and Connie & Homer Hochstetler's Vapor Maker who is entered in the $34,000 Sarah Meyers stake at Balmoral tomorrow. Vapor Maker comes off 2 seconds in the Lincoln Land Elimination and Final and 2 wins in the Cardinal Elimination and Final. This horse just keeps getting better and better, timed in 2:00.3, 1:59.4, 1:59.3, 1:57.4 and 1:57.2 in his last 5 starts! Vapor Maker is a 2 year old trotter by Vaporize out of the Primrose Lane mare La Rosita. We wish our fellow WHHA member Bruce Alexander and his partners good luck in tomorrow's race.

Margaret Caygill Passes Away (2-Oct)

Margaret LaVon (Brennum) Caygill, age 72 of Linden, passed away on Saturday, Sept. 30, 2006, surrounded by her family's love, at St. Mary's Hospital in Madison, after a brief illness. On May 1, 1954 Margaret married David Christopher Caygill at Linden United Methodist Church - 2006 marked their 52nd wedding anniversary. Margaret enjoyed David's harness races, cheering on her favorite driver. Margaret and David's son Bruce is a WHHA member and the Caygill family can be seen at many Wisconsin race meets.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00am on Wednesday, October 4th at the Linden United Methodist Church. Pastor Mary Ann Conklin will officiate with burial in the Linden Cemetary. Friends may call from 4:00pm until 8:00pm on Tuesday, October 3rd at the Lulloff-Peterson-Houck Funeral Home, Dodgeville and at the church on Wednesday after 10:00am. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Linden United Methodist Church or the charity of your choice would be greatly appreciated. Lulloff-Peterson-Houck Funeral Home (608) 935-3628.
